Based in Great Torrington, Devon, we are the place to be for your little ones who love nature, playing and exploring (and maybe getting a little mucky). Book your Stay & Play sessions here.
At Saplings, we run stay and play sessions with a Forest School ethos, for all walkers to about 8 years old. Each session starts with circle time amidst our beautiful three acre forest, enjoying the wonder of nature, while we explore a new weekly theme.
Your little people are then invited to choose how they wish to play that day, whether it be at our regular areas such as the mud kitchen, sand pit or the water play, or at the thematic play stations that change each week.
The provocations throughout our woodland encourage curiosity, inquiry, problem solving, risk taking and, most importantly, fun! Our 2 hour sessions are rounded off with the opportunity to come together again to share our experiences, enjoy a story or sometimes toast marshmallows at the firepit. What better way to learn and build confidence than through playing in the great outdoors!

Running on a Thursday or Friday afternoon, bring your baby to play under the trees while you enjoy a hot drink and some cake, included in the cost of your ticket. Book here.
We will soon have an outdoor cafe onsite for all your caffeine needs. Before each session, you can purchase hot drinks to take with you during the nature play...
....then afterwards, you can sit back and relax with drinks and some light bites while your children continue their fun either outdoors or in our Toy Shed, all within our woodland setting.
